Parents often scold their children for not being careful about what they write on Facebook. In Tennessee, two star offensive linemen can now turn the table on their own mother after she inadvertently forced their team to vacate three victories from earlier in the 2011 season.

I am amazed at some of the things that people send me online. Posting messages that should be private on my WALL.

I delete a lot of them and then message them privately.

Just a reminder. FACEBOOK is a public forum especially on WALLS.

Blog This Again...

I have been buried again in production. Recently we had to start pushing out written content for ourselves, clients and Presidio Sentinel.  In doing so I realized that my blog needs to become a BLOG again. lol. 

I talk, write, co-write, ghost-write, manage blogs and content. But at some point I need to find my voice again. So in doing so I wanted to take a moment to blog, weblog, journal a bit. 

Now that we have some other outlets for our more structured content it's clear now that this blog needs to become a little more unstructured. 

My goal behind this blog was for it to be a catch-all for everything that we do or anything that I care to blog about. When I first started blogging I created several different blogs but this one was the one that picked up steam and so I dropped the others. 

In the last few years and months we have co-created several other blogs for our various projects and clients projects. So it's weird that I stopped writing so seriously or not so seriously on DavidKamatoy.com.

As I write this I am rendering something on the big computer while writing and watching some Sci-Fi show. I am switching modes to an editing / writing mode. 

The biggest challenge in accomplishing any task or series of tasks is that even in juggling or multi-tasking you can only do so much. Even though projects and clients may be disturbing progress by trying to get in front. I mean let's face it every project is important. 

The problem is that there is some real world reality of getting things done one step at a time. The surreal reality of FAST-FOOD Service, 500 channels and GOOGLE doesn't really help our perspective of getting things done in real time. 

Even with outsourcing, fast computers, faster computers and delegating it still take time to get it done. Take it from a guy who randomnly does 15-36 hour days, everything takes time.

It's 3:42a.m. right now, Back to work.

Judo Coach Master Walter Dean Inducted into Martial Arts Hall of Fame

Anaheim, CA - Master Walter Dean of Carlsbad, CA, formally from Stuart, FL, was recently inducted into the 2011 Masters Hall of Fame in a formal ceremony held at the Anaheim Convention Center. Dean was presented with the prestigious Platinum Life Time Achievement Award, one of the organization’s highest honors.

Master Dean started his martial arts career over 55 years ago and holds a 9th degree black belt in Judo and a 6th degree black belt in Jujitsu. He is internationally recognized for his work coaching athletes for the Paralympics and other world events.

 

Dean is considered an expert at teaching martial arts to blind students and teaching other coaches these methods. Dean was part of the 1996 and 2000 Paralympics teams and has participated in over 15 World Games. The Paralympics is a premiere Olympic-quality sporting event and is run in parallel with the Olympics every four years. Walter Dean also spent many years working with the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) of Colorado Springs, CO, a leader in sports for the visually impaired. He was head judo coach and member of the Board of Directors.

 

Walter Dean has been selected as the Chief Technical Delegate for the Para Pan Games in Guadalajara Mexico this November, representing the International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) Judo Committee. The Para Pan Games is the selection event for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, and athletes selected at this event will qualify for a spot at the Paralympic Games.

 

Walter lives in Carlsbad with his wife of 41 years, Ginny, who is also a black belt in Judo. Dean is still involved with Judo on an International level and teaches three to four times a week in San Marcos at the San Diego Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Judo Academy.

 

Dean's lifetime attraction with Judo came from the desire to help children build confidence, gain self esteem and become more disciplined. Walter is the President of the Pacific Southwest Judo Association, a group that helps black belts and judo clubs in the San Diego area develop excellence.

Waitress turns "You're Fired!” into a Sweet Life

Chula Vista’s Sweet Life Deli to Reopen September 8, 2011

Chula Vista, CA - Sweet Life Deli, the popular eatery in the Park Plaza Shopping Center that has been closed since October, 2010, is officially reopening under new ownership on Sept. 8, 2011 at 5:00p.m.  Mayor Cheryl Cox will be performs the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Janene Lacey, the new owner, plans to make the deli the “go-to” destination in Chula Vista for sandwiches and sweet treats. The restaurant’s location near the UEI campus and 24-Hour Fitness Center makes it a natural choice for UEI students and employees from both locations. It is also advantageously located within walking distance of three parks and close to the site of the city’s Tuesday evening car shows.

With nine years in the restaurant industry and experience running two previous businesses, Janene Lacey feels well prepared to take on the revival of the Sweet Life Deli. The plans include a focus on social media to tap into the tech-savvy community as well as traditional marketing methods.
