It wasn't long ago that someone I think from HP as well as others realized that Computers are fast becoming peripherals of the WEB vs. the other way around.

The launching of the Chromebooks is the next step up on the curve of web integration.
I think this is a smart move from Google with the growing use of GOOGLE DOCS, VOICE, ANDROID this makes a ton of sense. As I've stated one of the problems I had with the pad integration in general was that the lack of a keyboard really limited the productivity of any long form writing. As it turns out a lot of people do not write that much. There are tons of entertaining things and short form productivity writings that are accomplished on PADS.
So where does the Chromebook fall... Somewhere between a netbook and a Droid phone or pad probably. I believe that the level of productivity that you'l be able to get out of this + it's price point is going to be the selling point.
WILL I GET ONE?
Maybe especially since we work heavily on google docs it might be good for the team.
1. As a Non-native Mac guy the ipad does not hold that much attraction for me until I reinegrate fully back into MAC.
2. Quite interested in the Archos 9 windows 7 Dual core tabplet pc with a SSD. Since I work in windows a lot right now.
3. Then interested in a droid and ipad so that we can see what are projects look like on these formats.
The iphone changed the smartphone market followed by ipad. In the interim googles Android quickly grabbed hold while as you know Palm tried and failed to keep up. Blackberry continues to fight back and has ton of loyal followers so I don't see them losing at any great length
