Entering the world of DSLR's

We've been shooting Standard Definition and HDV for the last year. It's funny for a guy who used to shoot on small form cameras because it was what we could shoot on at the time (Hi8, Super 8, etc.) to be shooting on a small form camera and it's what people are now shooting on.

We used to make fun of all these production pictures of us with big crews and small cameras. Suddenly were back to small form cameras.

The thought that Technicolor used to be running three strips of film at the same time for Red, Blue and Green compared to the CMOS technology thats in a 7D or the Micro Thirds technology where the Lense is bigger than the body it's an interesting time. 

After years of sporadically being in production it's interesting now being in production for the last year just doing ENG stuff how much much were moving back into production. 

Very similar to my injury 10 years ago where I realized Wow! if I dont get physically active again its going to get harder to come back. I realize that's the case now with shooting and production. 

We're entering a very productive time for us. The only thing holding us back from publishing a TO OF CONTENT is the editing.

That being said I am going to back to editing after a short writing break...

FINAL THOUGHTS: My buddy Von Ware and I have discussed this often but HDSLR's will definitely be a game changer for us. Just watch...

We will be publishing a lot of the old stuff and the new stuff side by side so just keep that in mind...

Sam’s Club to offer SBA loans

Sam’s Club is testing an online program to loan $5,000 to $25,000 to qualifying club members.

The warehouse retailer is working with Superior Financial Group, a Small Business Administration lender, on the project.

The Sam’s Club pilot program will focus on minority-, women- and veteran-owned small businesses as well as micro-entrepreneurs under the SBA’s Premier Outreach Express products such as Community Express, Patriot Express and Export Express loans.

Some Initial Thoughts...

The Good: It may get business owners to open their eyes to the SBA option and may lay the groundwork for a larger loan. 

The Bad: The same thing that happened with the emergency loans. A lot of people with bad credit applying for loans that ultimately the banks say no to.

I don't forsee a terrible outcome to this with the exception that the SBA may get yet another moniker of not funding.

As the guy who has worked mostly with start ups blogging on Craig G. Francis an SBA Loan Brokers site. I can tell you that loans from institutions usually come at a more mature time in the cycle of the business. 

Those maturing businesses can really take advantage of SBA Guaranteed Loans.

The @earlybird get the revenue! New Twitter Advertising Program Launches...

Twitter is launching another revenue angle via @earlybird. As an early adopter to twitter I was still not necessarily an early advertiser to twitter. I saw the writing on the twitter wall like most of social media that it was a CONTENT driven platform for pr and credibility. 

 The challenge for clients is hey HOW IS THIS TWITTER THING MAKING ME MONEY?

As an early adopter it's funny to now see retail chains like pep boys have shelf signs that have facebook and twitter icons on them.

We technically can't directly advertise on twitter these days unless it's blessed by twitter or it's somehow guised in content.

Hours in DMV knocked me out ooOOOO...

In the world of Hypnotherapy there is a thing that we refer to as environmental hypnotism. Like driving a car down a long road, allowing you to lose track of time. That sense of daydreaming. 

Well today I DROVE around most of the day and I went to the DMV where I sat for hours and journaled. My first clue should have been the guy sitting next to me that was ZONING OUT when his number was called it was if a hypnotist took him out of a trance. 

I mean this guy jumped out of his seat. He had obviously zoned out but programmed himself to listen for his number and respond. This guy jumped but then looked dazed and confused, he was out of it. 

I only think this is funny because I also zoned out. Even though I took the time to journal and plan (a great way to access the subconscious mind). Even after having a double shot of espresso I got back to office and was fairly a zombie. I made a few calls and interactions but I had to close my eyes for a little while in order to wake up and get back into TASK MODE. 

My personal challenge is that all the stuff that I set out to accomplish in ONE DAY ultimately did not get done. I have 2 major tasks that our now moving into my tomorrow and it slowed me down from doing a few of the smaller tasks since the large ones were not off the list.

WHAT'S THE LESSON HERE?

1. Remember that your subconscious mind processes a lot of stuff that the conscious mind is semi aware of. I was processing some large problems and it did not allow me to make smaller decisions. 

2. Napping, Sleeping on it or self-hypnosis can speed up the process of clearing the sub-conscious mind allowing you to once again do what's next. 

3. List making and journaling are great. Remember to handwrite out lists because handwriting connects to your sub-conscious mind. Which is why so many self-help gurus tell you to journal. 

FINAL TIP: Remember that when you are in a TRANCE state you essentially open up the filter to your sub-conscious mind. Be aware of what your thinking and what problems your trying to solve. Have some stock positive affirmations lying around that you can reinforce consistently.
