Hollywood, CA- Even with missed exits, sick performers, replacement performers. We had a packed house at Cafe Muse in LA with some strong veteran talent along with some newbies that kept us on our toes.
Gulden took over the room for the first Power set setting the tone for the night.
Annie Wiebe-was funny and cute as a button. (Is that a phrase.)
Cynthia Levin-was a high semi-angry but really funny note
Joaane Thompson-The new kid on the block was pretty powerful performer and I hope she stays with it. Oddly she said that she is not a recording artist but actually has some chops. Sing Girl Sing.
Albert Linton- THIS GUY WAS JUST A SCREAM. I mean a true veteran road warrior.
I got to introduce and play with the audience in between acts which was a blast. It's actually fairly relaxing not to have to take entire blunt of a set on your back.
Then the great Mark Christopher got to close the show which was a CROWD PLEASER. He came in after a speaking engagement at the Association of African American Cardiologists.
The crowd was filled with family, extended family, extras from the set of chuck, Animators, Producers... It was quite eclectic and a lot of talent for a small room.
We hope to post some video shortly but just wanted to say...
THANK YOU! to all the well-wishers that could not make it and all of you that did.
A good friend and producer actually broke down on the way to the show and was able to get the car fixed and still make it to the gig.... YEAH WOW!
Anyway more later.
