Well here it is more fodder for the education vs entrepreneurship argument. This article asks the question why aren't we making our schools more entrepreneur oriented?
Our American School system has been created to create a work force and not an entrepreneurial force. The American Spirit is being taken over by other countries because we've allowed the entrepreneurial spirit to be socialized out.
Look at some of the richest people in the world, they rarely finished college.
This is the one to see, write this down next to The DaVinci Code and X-men. Rarely does a film come along that I would say, “You absolutely have to see this film.” I have to applaud Al Gore, Director Davis Guggenheim for putting this incredible project.
Al Gore apparently has done this slideshow/speech 1000 times, he so eloquently presents the proof that has been ignored by the political systems. He also reminds us that we have a global environmental crisis before, remember that big switch in Air Conditioning the CFC reduction.
Perhaps one of the most touching moments of the film he speaks about the irony of losing his sister to Lung Cancer as the Gore family was in the business of growing and selling Tobacco. Illustrating that we as humans have difficulty with change…
I talked a lot on my show about wealth; a great definition of wealth is creating abundance for your children’s children. That’s a great goal for creating wealth. However, isn’t the planet part of that wealth? I mean if you create wealth, that’s great but if the ice caps melt and oceans rise 20 feet, most of that wealth will be spent surviving not thriving.
The good news is that if you live in CA it’s an environmentally friendly state, while Bush did not sign the
Kyoto
treaty several states and cities have done it on their own. Please take it upon yourself to move the political machine in the right way. They only care about what you care about.
Pasadena, CA- The Dave & Brad Show performed for an estimated 13,000 over two days at the Rose Bowl. We were honored to be chosen to perform at the 54th Annual Kare Youth League Circus. This organization has been helping kids in the Pasadena area for decades. The Kare Youth League also has a school, which is supported by alumni and the community. It's wonderful to see a community come together every year to celebrate and support such a great cause.
We shared the ring with some great Acts including...
Dave Smith Human Cannonball Act-Dave Smith's Act was just so COOOOL. I mean you always hear about
people getting shot out of Canons, but to see it was just WOW!.
Superman!!!
The Winan Family a Seventh Generation Circus Family- We got a value added "workout" by assisting the Winan family by holding ropes that kept taut the incline wire walking act. He walked from the field level up a wire to a pole that sat 60 Feet above the Bowl. Without a Doubt one of the most dangerous acts of the Circus.
"Man it's hot. It's like Africa hot. Tarzan couldn't take this kind of hot." -Eugene Morris Jerome, Biloxi Blues by Neil Simon
It was over 100 degrees during the day shows, just unbearable. During the hottest show the crowds shot at the top of the Rose Bowl in the shade. The biggest thrill for us came during the evening performances, where we performed for the largest crowds of the event, over 3000 for the final show.
Special thanks to the Crew which was made up mostly by the staff of the school and the Orsburn Family that were brave enough to hire us for this wonderful event.
You can check out the photos by click on the images. We'll be creating an album for your perusal.(Photos mostly by Ginger Lunney)
We shot this years ago. The idea was that most video's are of performers standing in front of a curtain and performing. The shooting of the performance seems like a documentary. So instead we decided to play straight to the camera and break the fourth wall. Enjoy!!!
